Ghosts of Nuggets Past: Where a few former Denver Nuggets are now
By Chris Bolin
It’s been a long rebuild since the Denver Nuggets have last had a winning season — with a lot of pieces moving in and out. Here are a look at five players who donned a Nuggets uniform in that time — and how they’ve fared since leaving the Mile High City.
Well, It’s been a tough five years for Denver Nuggets fans.
Since a 57-25 season in 2012-13 capped a run of 10 straight playoff appearances — granted all but one ended in a first-round exit — things haven’t been so smooth.
In the past five seasons, the Nuggets have gone a combined 185-225 without a playoff appearance to show — though they have finished just a game out of the eighth seed the past two years.
Now, sitting at 39-18, the Nuggets are in the midst of their most successful season since that 57-win campaign.
Led by 23-year-old Nikola Jokic, the Nuggets longest-tenured player is Garry Harris — who is just 24 himself. Harris was acquired in a draft-day trade with Chicago in 2014.
Jokic was drafted 41st overall that year but didn’t join the team until the following season after finishing a Serbian League contract.
With Kenneth Faried and Wilson Chandler being shipped away this past summer, the Nuggets roster has completely turned over since 2013.
Some have had pretty straightforward careers since donning the powder blue and gold. Danilo Gallinari has been a mainstay in the Clippers lineup since joining the team in 2017.
For others it hasn’t been so straightforward.
Now that this year’s trade deadline has passed, lets take a look at how a few other former Nuggets’ careers have shaped up since leaving the Mile High City.
