The Denver Nuggets are 2-1 in their last three games but haven’t been looking like themselves as of late, yet they still sit tied for the first seed in the west with the Golden State Warriors.

The Denver Nuggets have had an up and down past couple of games, but are currently tied for the top seed with the Golden State Warriors after the Warriors over-time loss to the Minnesota Timberwolves Friday Night. Both the Nuggets and the Warriors have games before their Tuesday night showdown at Oracle Arena in Oakland with home games against the Washington Wizards and Charlotte Hornets, respectively.

The race for the top seeds in the west is coming down to the last games of the season with every game mattering as teams try to lock in seeding and matchups in the playoffs.

The Portland Trailblazers took a heavy hit early this week after a terrible and gruesome leg injury to Jusuf Nurkic.

Meanwhile, the Houston Rockets are playing as well as ever. Chris Paul is playing his best basketball of the season after coming back from a Hamstring injury that kept him off the court for a month and MVP-candidate James Harden has continued to put up points in droves including a back to back 57 and 61 point performances against the Memphis Grizzles and San Antonio Spurs.

The Nuggets started the week with a nearly blown 27 point lead against the Detroit pistons only to be saved by a 33 point performance including a dagger two to put the Nuggets up four with 11 seconds left from Jamal Murray.

Then came the blowout loss at the hands of Harden and the Houston Rockets where the Nuggets offense was stagnant and the team struggled from behind the arc.

Meanwhile Harden took over the game leading all scores with 38 points on 10 of 22 shooting and 5 of 11 from the 3-point line.

Finally the Nuggets had the final test of the week Friday night against the Oklahoma City Thunder with potential playoff implications going forward as the Nuggets looked to complete the season sweep of the Thunder but also defend their NBA-best record of 6-1 on the 2nd half of back-to-backs this season.

However shaky the Nuggets have been playing there are things to learn from each of their three games so far this week that can be used in the playoffs so let’s go back and look at them.
