Next The Nuggets went into Houston Thursday night to play the Rockets in a showdown between two of the top three teams in the western conference.

Few games this season have looked as bleak as the Nuggets Rockets game in Houston Thursday night that saw the Nuggets down 26 halfway through the fourth quarter.

The Nuggets shot the ball poorly from all spots on the floor making just 12 of 31 from outside the restricted area as well as shooting 4 of 24 from behind the three-point line.

The Houston Rockets did not experience such shooting woes. James Harden dominated the game scoring in all of his usual ways including going 13 of 14 from the free-throw line. Clint Capela, Eric Gordon and Austin Rivers contributed to the scoring each putting up 17, 18 and 15, respectively. Gordon and Rivers were lethal from long-range shooting 4 of 6 and 3 of 7 from three-point land.

The Nuggets went 1-3 during the regular season against the Houston Rockets and in two of the four games the Nuggets didn’t even make 10 threes while the nuggets made 22 and 15 in those games. Any game the Nuggets struggle from three and the other team is making a decent amount of threes they will struggle to stay competitve. The Nuggets can’t afford to go cold during the playoffs.
