Jamal Murray has been scoring at quite the pace lately leading the Nuggets in scoring in each of their last 3 games.

Jamal Murray has quietly led the Nuggets in scoring each of their past three games with three straight nights of 20 points or more. Even in the disappointing game against the Rockets Murray scored 20 points in just 26 minutes on 7 of 14 shooting from the field.

The best part of Murray’s performances is how he is contributing to the Nuggets offense on highly efficient looks. Murray shot 12 of 19 from the field against the Pistons and followed it up with 27 points to lead all scorers while shooting 11 of 20 from the field against the Thunder.

Murray has shown scoring streaks like this during the season but hasn’t been able to consistently be one of the leading scores on the Nuggets for more than a couple games.

Murray has had some great high water marks this season including the two highest individual scoring performances for the Nuggets this season, but on the other side of the coin Murray has struggled to score in some games including three games where he scored less than 5 points.

Murray can and should contribute heavily to the Nuggets in the playoffs with his unique mix of streaky and crafty shooting close to the bucket and behind the arc but the Nuggets cant afford to have him struggle down the stretch and into the playoffs if they want to make a real push in the western conference playoffs.

The Nuggets have a very difficult remaining schedule going into the playoffs including an increasingly important showdown with the Warriors in Oakland on Tuesday followed by a home-and-home against portland and an away game in Utah before finishing the regular season at home against the Timberwolves.
