The bench for the Denver Nuggets proved to be deadly to opposing teams throughout the season. This award could have easily gone to Mason Plumlee, whose ability to rebound, block shots and pass helped the second unit excel. But we are going to give the award to Monte Morris because of the shoes he had to fill. Injuries to Jamal Murray, Gary Harris, Will Barton and Isaiah Thomas all forced Morris into heavy minutes and he did not disappoint. He led the offense alongside Jokic admirably and kept the Nuggets in contention for a high seed despite a swath of injuries to other Denver players. Boasting averages of 10.4 PPG, 2.4 RPG and 3.6 APG while shooting 49% from the field, Morris showed whether he must lead the first or second unit, he can do both successfully. He is only 23 and has shown great potential at the point guard position.
