Denver Nuggets: 3 things to watch going into the Semi-finals
The biggest question for the Denver Nuggets entering the playoffs is who would the second player behind Jokic to carry the offensive production for Denver in the playoffs, and the answer has been clear Jamal Murray is that player.
Sense the postseason started Murray has become more comfortable with each game he has played in and his role in the Nuggets offense seems to be only growing as other teammates struggle to knock down looks at the bucket that were going down earlier in the season.
In game two against the Spurs Murray put on a show in the fourth quarter with 21 points on 9 of 10 shooting and 3 of 4 from 3-point land to save the Nuggets from a 19-point lead midway through the third quarter before Murray put the game away in the fourth quarter.
In each of the Nuggets wins over the Spurs in the playoffs Murray scored over 23 points in each game and lead the Nuggets in scoring in both games two, five and seven while other players have shown quality shooting nights, but are lacking the consistency and ability to make difficult shots that Murray has shown during this playoffs.
If the Nuggets are to win the series against Portland Murray will have to show up to any game Denver has a hope to win and will have to be a second scoring option that will have to produce points against one of the best in the west in McCollum and Lillard who are anything but strangers to playoff basketball.
