Michael Porter Jr. is poised to make a comeback and could play this season for the Denver Nuggets.
The Nuggets Rookie is looking healthy and will play in the summer league. He was sidelined his first year due to an injury in a similar manner as Ben Simmons and Joel Embiid. So fans forget that Michael Porter Jr. was considered to be the best High School player and projected to go 1st overall in the draft.
Michael Porter Jr. recently announced that he would be playing in summer league because he is feeling healthier.
When questioned about his health recently, Michael Porter Jr. recently responded
"doesn’t hurt anymore, and I feel good."
At Missouri, Michael Porter Jr. was dynamite as a forward. He showed that he had guard skills to work with his 6’10” 210 lb frame.
Prior to be drafted Michael Porter Jr. had already been named a McDonald’s All-American (2017), McDonald’s All-American Game MVP (2017), Mr. Basketball USA (2017), USA Today Player of the Year (2017), Gatorade National Player of the Year (2017), Naismith Prep Player of the Year (2017), and Washington Mr. Basketball (2017).
He was considered by some analyst to be one of the greatest players ever. However, his fortunes turned when he got injured Porter was injured after playing three games.
However, despite his lack of playing time at Missouri in the 2018 draft he was selected as the 14th overall pick by the Denver Nuggets. He fell from possibly going as the number one pick in the 2018 draft, or latest top 3, to the 14th pick because of concerns about his health. Luckily because of the Nugget’s depth going into the season, Michael Porter Jr. was fortune enough to be able to sit out for an entire season to get healthy.
Michael Porter Jr. has been training all season long and it appears that he is healthy enough to play in summer league.
If Michael Porter Jr. can play this season, he will be a great addition for the Nuggets. He could very well be a All-Star in the future and a franchise quality player for the Nuggets.And it is very possible he could be rookie of the year next season if he returns healthy.
Jokic in combination with Michael Porter Jr and Jamal Murray could be something special.
The rest of the Western Conference is definitely sleeping on the Denver Nuggets.
