Giannis Antetokounmpo, James Harden, and Paul George have been named finalists for  the 2018-19 regular season MVP.

While Giannis Antetokounmpo and James Harden are definitely deserving to be a MVP finalist, Nikola Jokic was as deserving as well. Nikola Jokic was definitely more deserving of the selection than Paul George.

Not only were the Nuggets clearly better than the Oklahoma City Thunder this season, but the Joker was also the leader of the Nuggets. Paul George is considered by many to be the second best player on the OKC Thunder behind Russell Westbrook.

The Nuggets made greater improvements from last season compared to the OKC Thunder. The OKC Thunder not only made the playoffs last season, but they were the 6th seed.  Until the 2018-19 season, the Nuggets had not made the playoffs in 6 years. The Nuggets also won 8 more regular season games this season compared to last season.

Nikola Jokic had an historical season for NBA Centers. He may be the best Center in the NBA.

Jokić was eighth in the NBA in assists and is the first center since Wilt Chamberlain to have more than 500 assists during the regular season. Jokic maybe the greatest passing center ever. His passing ability brings out the best in his teammates. It also allows Jamal Murray to be more of a scorer than a point guard.

The Joker also put-up 12 triple-doubles this season and was second in  the NBA this season in triple-doubles. This season he also became the third youngest player in NBA history to reach 20 career triple-doubles. He is also the youngest center in NBA history ever to record 20 triple-doubles.  With this accomplishment, the Joker joins the elite company of Magic Johnson and Oscar Robertson.

Nikola is also the second player in NBA history along with LeBron James to lead his team in points, rebounds and assists. He is also the only center in NBA history to ever lead his team in points, assists, and rebounds in a single season. The Joker is truly revolutionizing the center position.

Nikola Jokic’s historical season definitely warranted him as an MVP finalist. James Harden and  Giannis Antetokounmpo had historic regular seasons.  In almost any other NBA regular season, the Joker would have been the MVP.
