Denver Nuggets vs. Washington Wizards is the final contest of Tuesday evening. Although the opponent isn’t elite, there are some fantastic aspects to the game.

The last time we saw the Denver Nuggets was last  Sunday night’s fourth-quarter handling of the Phoenix Suns. Their next opponent is currently ninth in the Eastern Conference, which doesn’t make for a ringing endorsement. Still, it also means they aren’t far from playoff contention — considering the optics, Denver Nuggets vs. Washington Wizards is quite the bizarre matchup.

Although the Washington Wizards have a sub-.500 record, the team is recorded as the second-best offensive rating in the NBA.  Shocking as that stat may be, Bradley Beal is playing the role of a franchise player as successfully as he can with his All-Star backcourt mate out for the rest of the season, which doesn’t hurt Washington in a rebuilding campaign.

Denver, although a top-tier team in the Western Conference, has shown notable cracks in the armor. Still, regardless of the slight defects on the Nuggets’ roster, Washington isn’t without significant faults. Furthermore, there are a few specific negative areas in which the Wizards will have issues.

Without giving away too much of the plot, Washington is as defensive as a James Harden highlight reel. Denver Nuggets vs. Washington Wizards doesn’t exactly scream “best game of the season,” but the hopes of a high-scoring affair doesn’t need much prayer. If anything, the Nuggets might need to turn back to the1980s in regards to the transition play.
