3-point marksmen should be a priority for the Denver Nuggets in the 2020 NBA Draft.

The 3-point shot has become the ultimate weapon in this era of the NBA but unfortunately for the Denver Nuggets, they’ve been an average 3-point shooting team for the last two seasons.

After ranking 17th in the league last season with a team 3-point percentage of 35.1, the Nuggets have shot just 35.8% from three this season, ranked 15th in the NBA.

To make matters worse, their 3-point percentage has only improved slightly despite power forwards Paul Millsap and Michael Porter Jr. shooting above 40% from three, which may prove unsustainable moving forward. In addition, forward Jerami Grant (who has shot 40.0% from three this season), has a player option for the 2020-21 season that he isn’t guaranteed to pick up after showing himself to be a dependable two-way presence over the last two seasons.

As always, the draft is a way that Denver — who has Houston’s first-round pick coming to them this offseason — can acquire cheap talent and shore up holes. Although the 2020 NBA Draft isn’t considered one of that’s particularly deep, there is definitely a plethora of elite shooters that the Nuggets can choose from.
