Thon Maker

Thon Maker, a 7’0″ center, is a player who is a three-level scorer on offense and has shot-blocking potential as well.

His career averages of 4.7 points, 2.8 rebounds and 0.7 blocks per game, which are actually identical to his 2019-20 averages, aren’t impressive. However, while being a perimeter-oriented big man, Maker is shooting a career-high 45.8% from the field this season while also knocking down 34.4% of his threes, the second-highest mark of his career.

For the Nuggets, Maker — whose cousin Makur Maker is a 2020 NBA Draft prospect — would be an interesting option as he could likely play both power forward and center, giving Denver the option of having twin tower lineups. Having been in 16 playoff games over the last three seasons, with 10 starts, his postseason experience could be valuable as well.

Aside from his ability to consistently stretch the floor out to 3-point range, his playoff experience is what sets Maker apart from the other players listed.
