Most agree that Denver Nuggets center Nikola Jokic is a star. Just how good is the All-NBA big man really, though?
If Denver Nuggets star Nikola Jokic holds form, he’ll go down as one of the greatest second-round draft picks of all-time. That’s an admittedly bold statement, but the 25-year-old center has already entered the upper echelon of NBA players.
As the NBA prepares for the resumption of the 2019-20 season, however, a familiar story is playing out: No one is truly acknowledging that there’s a superstar with Denver.
Jokic clearly isn’t devoid of praise or accolades. He’s a two-time All-Star whom many expect to make a second consecutive appearance on the All-NBA First Team once the 2019-20 regular season comes to a close.
Jokic was also named to the 2015-16 All-Rookie First Team, and received high praise for helping Serbia earn the silver medal at the 2016 Olympic Games.
When it comes to conversations about who the best big men in the NBA truly are, however, Jokic always seems to be glossed over. Perhaps he’ll be mentioned, but it doesn’t feel as though the average fan is truly paying him his due—an absurd thought to those who watch him.
Thus, the question beckons: Just how good is Denver Nuggets center and soon-to-be multi-time All-NBA honoree Nikola Jokic? Two superstar seasons in, the answer is: All-time good.
In countless ways.
