Nuggets: Player grades after ugly loss to Heat
By JT Matthews
Monte Morris – C
Morris was asked to fill a tall order in replacing the explosive Jamal Murray at starting point guard. Unfortunately, he was unable to produce the way the Nuggets needed him to today.
In his 28 minutes he seemed to struggle running the offense and he looked out of practice, which is unsurprising (he missed all three of the team’s scrimmages). Morris had an uncharacteristic 3 turnovers and just seemed like there was a disconnect with his game today.
Bol Bol – A-
Bol played only 12 minutes and looked like a young player with a world of upside.
It’s clear he’s still learning to play with his teammates and in Coach Malone’s defense but he did not look completely lost. He had 5 points and 4 rebounds, which isn’t a mind-blowing stat line but he was able to get some good looks without forcing shots or taking big risks. He also had a pretty pass in transition in a play you rarely see a center make. Bol did exactly what was expected of him and that should be commended.
