The Denver Nuggets picked up a big win in the NBA bubble in Orlando by taking down the San Antonio Spurs 132-126.

The Denver Nuggets have had a bit of a turbulent beginning to their campaign in Florida, but they enjoyed a high scoring win over the rival Spurs Wednesday afternoon.

Michael Porter Jr. once again stole the show, registering 30 points and 15 rebounds on 11/19 shooting. Nikola Jokic continued his dominant ways, scoring 25 points and dishing out another 11 assists, further cementing that he is the best passing big man in the league today. Jokic is coming off a performance in which he put together his 41st career triple double.

Jerami Grant gave the Nuggets a good jolt off the bench, pouring in another 22 points and sinking two rare three pointers. Grant has continued to be an excellent piece to what is an incredibly deep front court in Denver. The Nuggets gave up a first round pick in order to get him from the Oklahoma City Thunder, but have continued to use him exceptionally well.

Rudy Gay led the way for the San Antonio Spurs as he came away with 24 points. Porter Jr. became the first rookie in NBA history to score 30 points, come down with 15 rebounds, and nail five three pointers in a single game.

Next. Could Porter Jr. and Jokic become a strong tandem?. dark

In an era in which Luka Doncic, Donovan Mitchell, and Ben Simmons essentially rewrote the entire rookie-record book, Porter Jr. achieved a feat no one had before. Jokic said of Porter Jr., “He’s young, he’s gonna learn the game. He’s gonna learn the calls, he’s gonna learn everything… He’s a big target for me. I really like to play with him. He’s a really good shooter, he’s attacking the glass, he’s a talented player.”

For the Nuggets, the hard fought win could come at a considerable price, as the team has to turn right around and play the Portland Trail Blazers tomorrow night at 8:00 p.m. E.T.
