In a two-day poll conducted by NuggLove last week, Denver Nuggets fans preferred the team bring back Jerami Grant over the team’s other free agent big men.

Voters in this NuggLove poll were given four different choices for what they would like to see happen at the power forward position. Bringing back Paul Millsap, Mason Plumlee, Jerami Grant, or splitting the minutes between P.J. Dozier and Bol Bol were the four pieces of the poll.

A whopping 84% of voters said they would prefer to have the team resign Grant after his recent breakout play, further confirmed by the lackluster performances of Plumlee and Millsap. The Nuggets have an opportunity to reshape their roster some after this season as nearly their entire front court is up for a new deal.

There is seemingly little reason to bring back Millsap, who has noticeably declined on both ends of the floor. Plumlee has always been a good-not-great player in the paint, while Grant has answered the call after the team’s hefty investment in his services. Grant has gotten his three point percentage up to 39 percent for the season.

The Nuggets shouldn’t have too hard a time retaining Grant, should he decide to opt out of his contract. The Nuggets have his bird rights after trading for him from the Oklahoma City Thunder and giving up a first round pick in order to secure him. Denver appeared to be getting ahead of the times to some extent as his services were coveted by many teams around the league.

His length, rebounding, and new-found shooting ability make him nearly the complete package as a position-less wing who has to be accounted for the second he crosses mid-court. Denver, just as the NuggLove nation was, would be smart to bring him back on a long term deal. Game six tips off tomorrow at 8:30 P.M. ET.
