Key questions for Nuggets in series against Clippers
Who will step up for Nuggets outside of their stars?
The Nuggets can’t just rely on only Murray and Jokic in this series, as the Clippers’ offense doesn’t rely on only Kawhi and George. Where the Clippers have Ma. Morris, Harrell and Lou Will all helping their team on the offensive end, Denver will need to have at least Porter, Mo. Morris and Jerami Grant helping their team on offense.
Grant played decently on offense in Game 1, scoring 12 points on 4-8 shooting from the field and 3-6 from three, but going scoreless in the second half. Mo. Morris picked up the slack in the second half, as he finished the game with 12 points as well. Porter was off-the-mark, scoring just 5 points on 2-9 shooting as he went 0-6 from three (one shot was an end-of-quarter heave), but he’s shown himself to be an impressive scorer. He will need to play with more physicality and continue to shoot with confidence this series because the team will need him.
When he’s on the court, Millsap needs to be aggressive on offense as he was in Game 1, scoring 13 points with nearly half of his points coming from the free-throw line.
