Former Denver Nuggets point guard Ty Lawson finds himself in more trouble.

According to Sportando’s Emiliano Carchia, former Denver Nuggets point guard Ty Lawson has received a lifetime ban from the Chinese Basketball Association after posting stories on Instagram that the league obviously felt crossed a line. Lawson, who was playing for the CBA’s Fujian Sturgeons in the 2019-20 season, has been playing in China for the last three seasons.

He’s averaged 26.5 points, 7.9 assists and 2.3 steals per game since joining the CBA, where he’s played with former NBA players like Amar’e Stoudemire and Donatas Motiejunas.

Lawson is no stranger to trouble considering that his multiple run-ins with the law during his time with the Nuggets largely contributed to their separation.

However, and this is a matter of personal opinion, the lifetime ban that Lawson received from the CBA seems to be quite a severe reprimand unless Lawson’s Instagram stories violate the league’s personal conduct policy.

If they do and Lawson was aware of it, then it’s just another tragic turn in the career of a talented point guard. If they don’t, then this may not be the last that anyone hears of this story.

Nonetheless, while American players tend to thrive in China’s national basketball league, there are quite a few other leagues that Lawson likely can join.

Next. The world can learn from the Nuggets. dark

The EuroLeague, NBL (Australia’s national basketball league) and the Liga ACB (Spain’s national basketball league) are just a couple of potential options for Lawson.
