A possible depth chart for the 2021 season

PG: Jamal Murray, Monte Morris, P.J. Dozier

SG: Will Barton, Gary Harris, Kyle Korver

SF: Jerami Grant, James Ennis, Vlatko Cancar

PF: Michael Porter Jr., Jaden McDaniels, Keita Bates-Diop

C: Nikola Jokic, Bol Bol, Tyson Chandler

If Porter can shore up his defense in the offseason, then this depth chart has the best chance of being even more dangerous than the one the Nuggets’ had in these playoffs.

Barton supplants Harris as the starter, adding scoring and rebounding while providing adequate defense. Ennis replaces Craig, adding rebounding, along with a more reliable shooter and defender. Millsap is replaced by Porter, adding a better scoring threat to the starting offense but one whose defensive growth will be heavily monitored.

Continuing on with the theme of youth and player development, Porter’s position will be occupied by McDaniels, who isn’t the pure shooter that MPJ is but can make an impact that’s somewhat similar to Grant when his legs get under him. Plumlee is replaced by Bol, who’ll be more effective around the rim on both ends while also allowing the Nuggets to continue spacing the floor.

The leadership lost by Millsap’s departure will be replaced by Korver and Chandler, two players highly valued for their locker room leadership.
