Jeff Green

Jeff Green is another player with similar size to Jerami Grant, as he’s listed as 6’8″ and 235 pounds with a 7’1″ wingspan.

At 34-years-old and with 12 seasons of NBA experience, Green is still an athletic player who can defend multiple — well, basically all — positions. In addition, because of his experience — both in terms of the number of years he’s been in the league and the number of franchises he’s played for — he has a wealth of knowledge that would benefit the young Nuggets. His 72 career playoff games and NBA Finals appearance could also help Denver offset the team’s youth and relative inexperience.

However, Green is a fairly average (if not below average) 3-point shooter, even on spot-up attempts. That makes him less valuable than Grant offensively but, in a vacuum, there wouldn’t be too much drop off between Jerami and Jeff.

The best part about signing Green is that he’s highly unlikely to break the bank after signing a series on one-year minimum contracts. This will help Denver maintain future flexibility and ease their concerns about a salary cap that could shrink for multiple years.

Green averaged 9.4 points and 2.8 rebounds per game in the 2019-20 season, shooting 46.2% from the field and 33.9% from three-point range.
