The Denver Nuggets are signing Bol Bol to a two-year deal.

According to Shams Charania of The Athletic and Stadium, second-year forward Bol Bol has agreed to a two-year, $4.2 million deal with the Denver Nuggets after having his Two-Way contract converted. Charania adds that Denver is excited about Bol’s development in the upcoming season.

The Nuggets’ plan to sign Bol to a standard NBA contract has been known for a couple of days but the details of the deal — or any whisperings about the specifics of it — were nonexistent.

Giving Bol a two-year deal, in which one of the seasons is likely non-guaranteed or an option, isn’t a strong showing of faith in a 7’2″ player who plays with every bit of his length on both ends while having the offensive skillset of a player who’s  6’2.”

It begs the question of if the outside sentiment regarding Bol’s talent and potential is different for those inside of the Nuggets organization.

However, it should be noted that he’s signing a contract that pays more annually than Monte Morris’ (three years, $4.7 million) and that’s more lucrative than Vlatko Cancar’s (three years, $4.2 million) as well. After being taken in the second round of the 2017 NBA Draft, Morris is in line for an extension. That could be the route that Bol takes, earning his spot in the rotation and being a steady force in whatever role he’s asked to play.

Next. Denver is the Home of the Sleepers. dark

For what it’s worth, the Nuggets are going to give Bol a legitimate chance to do so.
