Shooting

Many early problems centered on the bench offense, as the pine has featured a multitude of playmakers accompanied by very little shot-making.

Playmakers are great to have, but ultimately weapons are needed on the finishing end, especially when a reserve unit must score in bunches to overcome it’s own poor defense.

Green’s return helped the bench immensely, as he’s averaging 12.3 points per game while shooting an absurd 52.6 percent from 3-point range. He’s attempted a much-needed 4.8 deep shots per contest, while hitting 2.5.

[Editor’s note: These numbers don’t reflect his stats from the Nuggets’ win over the Philadelphia 76ers, where he scored 12 points and shot 2-6 from 3-point range]

When playing with Jokic and Murray, Green has also proven himself an exceptional floor spacer, which is exactly what the duo needs to create. This is an aspect Jerami Grant brought to the table, and Green is helping fill his shoes in a major way.

Ultimately, Green is a career 37.8% 3-point shooter, so he should continue to make an impact here.
