The Denver Nuggets have been through the ups and downs of logo, jersey, and court designs. There are the gorgeous rainbow color schemes that still get a callback today, there are the silky smooth sky blue and yellows as well as the modern designs they’ve been employing today.
Because of that variety, I’ve decided to rank the top logos from start to finish. Now, before I do, I want to lay a few ground rules and make a bit of a grading system for this highly subjective list.
The first ground rule is that this is an article written by one person and this merely reflects my opinion, let me know what you think. The second ground rule is that I’m not including the Denver Rockets years, I’m starting in 1974 when the Nuggets entered the NBA and had to change their name.
I’ll give the logos a grade based on the following:
- Design: Simple – does it look nice?
- Iconicness: No, it’s not a word but it sounds right. I’m looking at how relevant it is
- Accompanying jersey(s): Did the jerseys look good with the design/colors?
There are about four or five different logos (you’ll see why it’s ambiguous later), so, let’s get into it:
