Ranking the Denver Nuggets’ logos #2 2019-present

The Nikola Jokic and Jamal Murray era of Denver Nuggets basketball. This jersey change came in at a great time, just as Jokic was morphing into the MVP we know and love today and just before the 2020 Disney Bubble where he and Murray had some of the greatest basketball performances ever.

On top of that, the design is simple, encapsulates the past designs and messaging while also looking swish and modern. It gives a lot of freedom to the accompanying jerseys, where the logo really shines with its darker color scheme.

It also has the luxury of being the present day when every team gets four or five jerseys a year so of course, the team is re-retroing the best of the best with the Mile High Basketball red and blue or the rainbow skyline.

To make the jerseys even better, the NBA Bubble gave players the option to add a social justice message on the back of their jerseys with Jamal picking ‘freedom’. It was a great idea but also led to one of the best moments in Denver Nuggets history as an exhausted Jamal walked stopped on his way out of the arena after Game 6 against the Utah Jazz.

I don’t know if I’ll ever forget those performances or that exact photo so this jersey has the ‘iconicness’ criteria on lock.

But the fact that one of the best jerseys under this logo is a homage to an old logo probably says something about the winner of this list.
