Denver Nuggets Game 3 lessons: Is Michael Porter Jr being too passive?

Since the injury of Jamal Murray, Michael Porter Jr has really stepped into his own. The final games of the Portland Trail Blazers series showcased this, with Porter Jr. having two 26-point games to close out the series. However, this series has been a different story, with Porter Jr. having a combined 41 points across the three games.

While his field goal percentage has not been ideal, the real question to ask is the young star being too passive.

In the most recent outing, Porter started off strong in the first quarter by scoring eight points and hitting multiple 3-pointers. The young star only managed to score one more point before three-quarter time, until he hit a couple of shots in the fourth quarter to end up with 15 points.

As mentioned previously, Jokic cannot win this series on his own as this game has proven. With Porter being the second-best player, he needs to step up his game and become more aggressive in getting his shot.

Porter Jr is a game-changer when his shot is hitting and he is on, which is exactly what the Nuggets need to start a potential comeback against a strong opponent.
