Denver Nuggets: 4 must-dos this offseason
By Sean Carroll
The Denver Nuggets enter this offseason after a disappointing playoff sweep at the hands of the Phoenix Suns. It wasn’t a surprise that the team was beaten, especially after Jamal Murray went down, but it asks a lot of questions about how this team can become a title contender.
Luckily for the Nuggets, they’ve already finished the hard part: get a star. MVP Nikola Jokic is happy in Denver and apparently wants to spend the rest of his career here, becoming Denver’s Tim Duncan. Jamal Murray just started his maximum extension, and Michael Porter Jr is eligible for one this offseason.
It’s now on Tim Connelly and the Nuggets front office to surround the core with role players to contend. And his postseason press conference echoed that thought:
"“I really like our foundation, but until we’re having this press conference after we win a championship, we’re falling short.”"
This article is looking at four things Connelly should have on his offseason checklist to bring these Denver Nuggets closer to their first-ever NBA championship.
