Denver Nuggets offseason checklist: Keep Will Barton

Talk about transitions, what a beautiful move onto this next slide. While it’s exciting at times for Nuggets fans to throw Barton around in trades, sign-and-trades, or just using his contract elsewhere (myself included), keeping Will Barton is the easiest way to fix some of Denver’s issues this offseason.

While his defense is hardly dependable, Barton can soak up Murray’s touches and offensive production for the regular season, and maybe even make a career year out of it.

On top of Barton, some are forgetting that Monte Morris is one of the more dependable guards in the league with his extremely low turnover percentage and steady game.

It gets hard to replace Murray’s production if Barton doesn’t come back. Without Barton, Denver is left with the guard rotation that saw them get swept by the Suns. In the regular season, we might beat the Portland’s of the world, but no the league’s elite.

Keep an eye on the 1 Aug. option deadline for Will the Thrill.
