With Will Barton and JaMychal Green both opting out of their respective player options, both likely resigning, the Denver Nuggets will likely stay below the tax line, giving them access to the full mid-level exception (MLE).

The MLE is expected to be around $9.5 million this offseason, giving the Nuggets a solid avenue to upgrade the team for this season and possibly beyond.

It should be noted that last season, the Denver Nuggets managed to sign JaMychal with the MLE. The Nuggets will have the option of retaining him through this same avenue, but as predicted a few days ago, he would fit into the team’s cap space, opening up the exception.

While this year’s free agency class doesn’t have many big names, there are plenty of role players who will be looking for money around the MLE. Here are four free agents the Nuggets can target this offseason.
