Austin Rivers is returning to the Nuggets on a one year deal.
Rivers, who joined the Denver Nuggets last season after being traded by the New York Knicks and waived by the Oklahoma City Thunder, has re-committed to Denver on a one year deal for the 2021-22 season, reported by Chris Haynes of Yahoo! Sports.
The terms of the contract have not yet been revealed, but it is likely Rivers has signed for the minimum considering some of the contracts Denver already has on the books. The Nuggets have had a busy first day of free agency, ensuring that they re-sign their key players such as JaMychal Green and Will Barton, while luring Jeff Green away from the Brooklyn Nets.
Rivers was a good addition for the Nuggets last season, providing the team with another offensive option and some deep range shooting. His play last season helped the Nuggets when key starters were sitting and Rivers helps provide the team with the depth needed for another deep playoff run.
While Denver has lost JaVale McGee and not made any decisions on the future of Paul Millsap, the team has had a strong opening day to the 2021 Free Agency.
