After re-signing Will Barton, what does he change for the Denver Nuggets’ title window?

Will Barton can be a menace for opposing defenses when he gets going, and the Nuggets will need everything the 30-year-old has got to keep pace without Murray.

Barton averaged 12.7 points a game in the regular season in 2020-21, and Denver will need him to ramp things up even more.

The two-year, $32 million deal makes Barton the longest-tenured Nugget, and he will act as an offensive backbone for Denver in 2021, creating his own shot and offering some range to the Nuggets’ offensive game after averaging 38.1 percent from three in 2020-21, the best average of his ten-year career.

If Barton can manage to avoid injury himself after dealing with a hamstring issue for more than six weeks last season, he should team well with Michael Porter Jr., Aaron Gordon, and Jokic to keep the Nuggets afloat early on.
