Nuggets vs Magic Prediction
Don’t look now, but here comes Denver! The Nuggets are 8-2 against the spread (ATS) in their last 10 and have covered in four straight, including that underdog win over Toronto in their last game. Nikola Jokic is averaging a triple-double over his last 15 and is flying up the MVP leaderboards while leading the NBA’s 3rd-best offense over that stretch.
They’ll look to stay hot against an Orlando team that is just 1-4 ATS in their last five. Those losses came against stiff competition in the Suns, Jazz, Celtics and Grizzlies, and they’ll have another uphill battle against Denver tonight. The Magic actually beat Denver 108-103 earlier this season and you can bet Denver has revenge in mind.
While the Nuggets are surging, Orlando is not. Over the last 15 games, Orlando is 26th in net rating with the 2nd-worst offense in the league. They’re just 2-5 ATS in their last seven road games but they do play at the 4th-fastest pace in the league and will hope to catch Denver tired after physical games with the Raptors and Celtics.
That being said, Denver is just too hot right now to bet against. I don’t see how the Magic can slow down their offense with how excellent Jokic is playing.
Give me the Nuggets -11 (-110) to cover for their fifth straight game, and I’m also on the over 225.5 (-110). The over is 9-1 in Denver’s last 10 home games and 6-3 in the Magic’s last nine. With just the 21st-ranked defensive rating over the last three weeks, the Nuggets defense should allow enough open looks to push this one over.
