Denver Nuggets: 3 questions entering the All-Star break
By Sean Carroll
Denver Nuggets pre-All-Star break questions: Will they sign anyone on the buyout market?
After an eventful NBA trade deadline, the buyout market looks like it’ll be just as lucrative. So far, only one player has changed teams after being bought out and it was Tristan Thompson heading to the Chicago Bulls.
Goran Dragic was recently waived by the San Antonio Spurs so he’s on the market, Gary Harris might be available if the Orlando Magic decide to tank focus on youth development, and Derrick Favors might be moved on from OKC in a similar fashion.
The Denver Nuggets currently have one open roster spot but with DeMarcus Cousins (a player who is 8-0 when he plays with Denver this season) on his second 10-day deal, the Nuggets would have to waive a player on the roster to open up room.
Is it worth waiving a player on the roster to bring in a Gary Harris type? The most likely candidate would be Facu Campazzo who has seen his minutes dry up with the emergence of Bones Hyland.
After trading for Bryn Forbes, Harris’ skillset might be redundant. Is it worth the risk?
