The Denver Nuggets have little to work with this summer. But that doesn’t mean they can’t sign a veteran free agent that’s capable of making an impact.

The biggest takeaway from this past season for the Denver Nuggets is that they’ve got an incredibly resilient group. Despite getting bounced in five games by the Golden State Warriors. They still reached heights that very few could have predicted given the circumstances.

I mean, how many other championship contenders could’ve handled losing two of their three star players better than the Denver Nuggets. Obviously, it helps when you’ve got the reigning MVP of the league, Nikola Jokic. But every man on this roster stepped up in big ways also.

Monte Morris fearlessly took over as the team’s starting point guard and was arguably their second-best player all year. Finishing with career-highs in points (12.6), rebounds (3.0), assists (4.4) and minutes (29.9) per game.

Aaron Gordon proved to be a reliable third or fourth option on any given night and is owed a very reasonable $86.64 million over the next four years. While rookie guard, Nah’Shon Lee “Bones”  Hyland, masterfully carved out a role and a future for himself on the franchise with potentially the brightest future in basketball.

Even though the season didn’t go as planned, there’s a lot to like if you’re the Denver Nuggets.

That being said, if they truly want to capitalize on Jokic being in the prime of his career, and the team still being within that pivotal championship window. Then they need to utilize what little cap space they have this summer to go out and sign some veteran free agents that can make an immediate impact.

Here are the top three players the Denver Nuggets should target in the 2022 NBA offseason.
