It gave the Denver Nuggets a chance to re-evaluable what they have

Throughout the season, Tim Connelly and the front office tried their best to put the best roster around Nikola Jokic even without Murray and Porter. During the season Denver made a few moves that were clearly win-now moves like the Bryn Forbes trade and DeMarcus Cousins acquisition.

Denver knew that they had to try and be aggressive because wasting a year of Nikola Jokic’s career is never a good thing. Connelly has been clear that they are always trying to compete, even when people asked if tanking was an option without MPJ.

Going into this offseason, the front office more than likely knows that they did not have the best roster around Jokic as Denver has key needs going into the offseason that they, unfortunately, weren’t able to fill at the deadline.

One of the areas Denver needs to address is their issues on the defensive side of the ball. The Dozier injury hurt in this department but it’s no excuse to lack this much defense on the wings.

The bottom line is Denver didn’t have the best of luck when it came to injuries this past season but they also probably didn’t have the best roster to make a great run. Getting healthy and addressing the needs that this team needs to get where every single player, coach, and fan wants this team to be at that being bringing Denver its first NBA championship.

Not only health but roster construction is also going to be a big thing for the guys in the front office this offseason.

If Denver is able to stay healthy and have a good offseason there is no reason they can’t be where they wanna be.
