Why the Denver Nuggets should pursue Terrence Ross: A change of scenery

It’s hard to blame Terrence Ross for wanting out of Orlando. After all, the franchise is clearly in the midst of a team rebuild, which contributed to Ross’ reduced role in the anemic Magic offense last season.

Led by an inconsistent young core that is still learning to play with one another, Orlando stumbled their way to the league’s second-worst offensive rating, according to NBA.com.

No matter where he ends up, Ross should be motivated to return to his usual production. He could also benefit greatly from sharing the court with a playmaker like Jokic.

Ross is no stranger to playing with a floor general. The Human Torch shared the court with All-Star point guard Kyle Lowry for his first five seasons as a pro, starting in 132 games for the Raptors.

During his time with Lowry, Ross shot the ball with greater efficiency, sinking 37.6 percent of his 3-pointers. In comparison, he has only knocked down 34.8 percent of his 3-point attempts since joining the Magic.

It wouldn’t be surprising to see Ross’ efficiency increase again if he was given the chance to play alongside the Joker.
