Denver Nuggets: Very early trade targets for the 2022-23 season
Denver Nuggets early season trade targets: Rudy Gay
With the Utah Jazz being on a fire sale, the Denver Nuggets should look to try and acquire Rudy Gay who Danny Ainge should be trying to trade.
While the Nuggets have plenty of wings, it wouldn’t hurt to add another one to the rotation. Gay is a battle-tested veteran that is looking for his first championship just like the Nuggets.
Bringing in Gay allows the team to have a player with plenty of experience similar to Jeff Green in the locker room, who can go on the floor, hit open jumpers, and play solid defense.
He won’t be asked to go and play 20-plus minutes a night which is good to preserve his body for when playoffs come around. He can come in and play alongside Jokic and be a good cutter and shooter when the team needs some offense off the bench.
Having Gay on the team will help the team reach its full potential, and will give the Nuggets one of the deepest teams in the NBA. With the Western Conference being loaded with teams looking to dethrone the Golden State Warriors and win the Larry O’Brien trophy, having players like Gay on the roster are the kind of veteran role players that help in the playoffs.
