Nuggets understood the gravity of the game

The importance of this win cannot be put down into words for the Denver Nuggets. They were without two of their top options on the offensive end in the Blue Arrow and MPJ, they were battling for the number one seed in the conference, they were tasked with slowing the galvanic Morant with a rookie, and they had to do it all on national television.

The Nuggets stepped up, as Mile High Basketball fans have seen countless times over the years, especially with Malone at the helm. Jokic had his second triple-double in a row and showed why he is again an MVP candidate. The Nuggets never trailed, and every time the Grizzlies made a push, Denver snapped back with explosive dunks and clutch threes from Braun and Bones Hyland.

Now at 19-11, the new-look Nuggets have their sights on the Portland Trail Blazers in a divisional matchup on Friday. The stakes only get higher from here, but the Denver Nuggets are making the climb and securing the necessary wins to be in a position to make some noise in this year’s playoffs.
