The Denver Nuggets have dropped three straight games on the road, but they are favored on Thursday night against the Orlando Magic.
Denver is a fun team to bet props on, as it moves the ball a ton and has several star-caliber players in Nikola Jokic, Michael Porter Jr., Aaron Gordon and Jamal Murray.
Murray is listed as questionable for tonight’s game, which leads me to one of my favorite points props tonight. Plus, I have a play for Orlando Magic rookie Paolo Banchero in case you want to sprinkle some money on both teams.
Let’s dive into the picks:
Nuggets vs. Magic best NBA prop bets
- Michael Porter Jr. OVER 17.5 Points
- Paolo Banchero OVER 19.5 Points
- Aaron Gordon OVER 9.5 Rebounds and Assists
Michael Porter Jr. OVER 17.5 Points
MPJ has been hot as of late for Denver, picking up 20 or more points in four of his last six games, including three straight.
Murray’s status could swing things, but if the Nuggets guard sits, Porter Jr. becomes the de-facto No. 2 option on offense.
The former lottery pick is out there to score the basketball, taking 13.7 shots per game in six games since returning to the lineup. He’s been extremely efficient as well, shooting 54.9 percent from the field and 45.8 percent from beyond the arc.
I think Porter Jr. could have another big game against Orlando.
Paolo Banchero OVER 19.5 Points
Banchero is running away with the league’s Rookie of the Year award, averaging 20.2 points per game this season.
Denver’s defense has been improving as the year’s gone on, but the Nuggets still rank 25th in the NBA in defensive rating on the road.
That’s a good sign for Banchero and Orlando, who have an offensive rating that is four points higher when they’re at home.
Paolo has cleared 19.5 points in just four of his last nine games, but I think this is a bounce-back spot for him against a Nuggets team that hasn’t been great away from Ball Arena.
Aaron Gordon OVER 9.5 Rebounds and Assists
This continues to be one of my favorite props to bet, as Aaron Gordon is filling the stat sheet up on a nightly basis.
The Nuggets forward has cleared 9.5 rebounds and assists in nine of his last 12 games, averaging 6.3 boards and 4.5 assists per game over that stretch.
Somehow, we’re getting this prop at plus money against Orlando, so I’m going to gladly jump on board after Gordon picked up eight dimes to go OVER this against Minnesota.
Gordon has a bit of a revenge game against his former team tonight as well, so trust him tonight.
