Since the end of the 2023 trade deadline, the Nuggets weren’t expected to sit still, and after a few days, Reggie Jackson is reportedly close to joining the team. Despite having a down season with the Los Angeles Clippers, Jackson could find a suitable role in the Nuggets’ current rotation.

With Bones Hyland gone and the only remaining guard option being Ish Smith, the Nuggets will likely slot Jackson in the bench unit with the hope that he will provide an additional scoring option. Jackson was coming off the bench for the LA Clippers this season after getting starter minutes last year. He averaged 25.7 minutes per game putting up 10.9 points per game.

After being a high-usage player last season, his shooting stats have taken a hit this season. However, he still can be a useful option for head coach Michael Malone. Denver should be in a better place bench-wise with Jackson and Thomas Bryant in the mix after their bench mob struggled during the first few months of the 2022-23 season.

Also, Jackson will have the chance to play alongside Nikola Jokic, one of the best passers we’ve ever seen in the NBA, so fans can expect the veteran guard’s shooting splits to improve in the coming months. Jackson was used as the team’s point guard in two of the Clippers’ top 3 lineups this season, but Denver has the flexibility to play Jackson alongside other guards, who can hide his deficiencies.

With that said, here are three lineups with Reggie Jackson the Nuggets should try once he officially joins the team.
