Nuggets target No. 2: Dario Saric, PF/C

Two seasons ago, Dario Saric was the secret weapon for the Phoenix Suns as they broke out and won their way to the NBA Finals. It was then that Saric tore his ACL, missing the rest of the playoffs and all of the following season. He came back this year and was rounding into form heading into the Trade Deadline when the Suns sent him packing to the Oklahoma City Thunder.

The Thunder seem likely to keep him around this year, but next season with Chet Holmgren returning there doesn’t seem to be room for Saric. That could make him a great buy-low option for the Nuggets as a 4/5 who can space the court (career 35.9 percent from deep, 39.1 this season). His switchability next to Aaron Gordon would give the Nuggets a small-yet-fearsome big pairing on bench units.

Nuggets target No. 3: Georges Niang, PF

Another option at the big positions is to go for a floor-spacer, and there may not be a better option in that role available to the Nuggets than Georges Niang. The former Jazz stretch-4 and current Philadelphia 76ers gunner is not afraid to launch; he is a career 40.5 percent shoot from deep, and not a streaky one either, with five-straight seasons hitting at least 40 percent.

77.1 percent of Niang’s shots are 3-pointers, and he is getting up 9.7 attempts per 36 minutes. That level of floor spacing would be ideal playing alongside players such as Bruce Brown and Aaron Gordon, defensive aces with middling perimeter gravity. Niang’s lack of athleticism prevents him from being a difference-maker in other areas, but he is fine in team defense and his shooting is truly lethal.
