Building a perfect Nuggets cast for Nikola Jokic with 1 All-Star, 1 HOFer, and 2 role players: SF – OG Anunoby
Sticking with the idea of pairing Nikola Jokic with high-level defenders and top-notch three-point shooters, OG Anunoby fits the bill as our second role-player choice.
At just 26 years old, there’s still a chance Anunoby can reach an All-Star level, but he’s not quite there yet, which makes him a valid choice for this spot.
This past year, Anunoby was named to the All-Defensive Second Team, leading the league in total steals (128) and steals per game (1.9). At 6-foot-7, he is perfectly equipped to run the small forward position for this team.
In addition to his defense, Anunoby had one of his best offensive seasons with the Toronto Raptors this past season. He averaged 16.8 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 2.0 assists while shooting 47.6% from the floor and 38.7% from deep on 5.5 three-point attempts per contest.
On this fantasy team, Anunoby would be able to take on the challenge of guarding the best offensive forward on opposing teams while also draining his catch-and-shoot threes.
Anunoby’s ability to play off the ball on offense and also defend at a high level is why he’s the perfect choice in this spot next to Jokic.
