3. Golden State Warriors

The Denver Nuggets haven’t really had their “passing of the torch” moment in the Western Conference just yet. They have yet to take down the Golden State Warriors — the modern-day dynasty — in a playoff setting.

Stephen Curry and the Warriors weren’t able to survive long enough to meet up with the Nuggets last spring, as they went crashing out of the postseason in the second round.

Their 2022-23 campaign was an absolute mess. It all started when Draymond Green knocked out Jordan Poole during a preseason practice. Video of the incident leaked online and Poole’s confidence was shot all year.

On top of that, Golden State was abysmal on the road, winning just nine games all season. This summer they’ve retooled their roster, adding future Hall-of-Famer Chris Paul to the squad in exchange for Poole.

The feel is that the Warriors’s season could end in a wide range of ways. They could be toward the top of the league or could fall apart and miss the postseason altogether. Who knows, really?

But, if they’re at their best, then the Dubs will be a sizeable obstacle for Jokic and the boys this year. They have won four titles in the last 10 years, after all.
