Denver Nuggets fans can rejoice. The wait for the tip-off of the 2023-24 season is almost here, with NBA training camp just under a month away.

Denver’s preseason training camp will open up on Oct. 3, the same date as 27 other NBA teams. The Dallas Mavericks and Minnesota Timberwolves, who will open NBA preseason action with games in Abu Dhabi, UAE on Oct. 5 and 7. will be the only two franchises who start camp on Sept. 27.

Though camp officially starts on Oct. 3, many players are already back in their team’s city working on their game in the offseason.

Important Denver Nuggets preseason dates to know

The Nuggets will spend early October gearing up for their NBA title defense, after capturing their first-ever Larry O’Brien trophy back in June.

They’ll play five preseason exhibition games on the following dates:

Oct. 10: At Phoenix, 8 p.m. MT

Oct. 12: At Chicago, 6 p.m. MT

Oct. 15: Chicago 7 p.m. MT

Oct. 17: at Los Angeles 8 p.m. MT

Oct 19: at Los Angeles 8 p.m. MT

Important Denver Nuggets preseason storylines to follow:

Though the Nuggets are entering the season as favorites on DraftKings Sportsbook to win the NBA championship, they’re going to have to iron out some kinks in order to get to that point.

The most prominent issue that they’ll face is their lack of wing depth. This summer, Denver saw both Bruce Brown and Jeff Green depart in free agency. Brown inked a two-year deal to join the Indiana Pacers, while Green headed to the Houston Rockets on a two-year agreement of his own.

Denver is going to have to find someone to step up and fill the void left by the pair’s exit. Training camp will be a great opportunity for the Nuggets coaching staff to evaluate what they’ve got and decide which young wing will inherit those extra minutes.

Another key thing to watch in Denver’s preseason is how fatigued some of the stars may be. The Nuggets just endured a long-trying road to the title, spanning nine months. It’s going to be interesting to see how a player Jamal Murray — who sat out of the World Cup to recover — is looking as the season rolls around.
