Bruce Brown just made Nuggets fans fall even more in love with him

When the news broke that Bruce Brown would be returning to the Denver Nuggets back in the earlier parts of the offseason, it left the fanbase in a state of total euphoria. Brown was already so beloved by the Nuggets' fanbase, but his latest comments from media day are likely to only increase how positively he is viewed by fans in Denver.

"As soon as I got to Toronto, I thought about coming back to Denver right away," Brown said. "The whole time I was in New Orleans, I was thinking about the Nuggets."

This is of course what every Nuggets fan was thinking, but they probably didn't expect Bruce to actually say it. In expressing this sentiment publicly, Brown made a powerful statement of loyalty and affection for the city and the team.

Now, as we head into the season, Nuggets fans are reminded that Bruce is not only going to be a rotation player on a team that's vying for a championship. He'll also act as an important culture-setter and someone who truly values Denver, and sees it as his home. Some aren't going to understand the value in this, but it's an intangible that will ultimately matter for this team.

There was probably never a doubt about it from Nuggets nation to begin with. But Brown's comments made it obvious that he didn't just come back to Denver for a simple payday. He truly wants to make an impact and to be aligned with the franchise culture the Nuggets are looking to continue building as they chase the second championship of the Nikola Jokic era.

It's reasonable for fans to expect Bruce to contribute even more this season than he did the first time around, especially after these passionate comments from him. Bringing Brown back on board is going to help stabilize Denver's bench depth and give the Nuggets quite a bit more flexibility when it comes to putting a winning group on the floor. 

By wearing his heart on his sleeve like this, Bruce has only earned more goodwill from the fanbase. Not only fans, but teammates as well are going to see someone who's truly committed to winning with this organization. 

With that greater emotional investment is going to come greater expectations. Nuggets fans know what kind of impact Bruce Brown can make when he's at his best. Now, it's just going to be a matter of him maintaining this level of euphoria in the hearts of the fanbase by performing at a consistently high level all season long.
