The internet is blowing up over a viral social media post that showed LeBron James, Rich Paul, and Miško Ražnatović, Nikola Jokic’s agent, meeting on a yacht with the caption, “The summer of 2025 is the perfect time to make big plans for the fall of 2026!”

The post sent fans into a frenzy and caused all the aggregation sites to go wild with speculation. Ražnatović was a professional basketball player in the 1980s who opened a law firm during his career. He eventually retired from playing and became one of the biggest power agents in the basketball world.
He is the CEO, founder, and chairman of the BeoBasket agency, and his notable clients include Jokic, Ivica Zubac, Dario Saric, Goga Bitzadze, and countless others. The Serbian national has become one of the main power players in European basketball and is a FIBA-certified agent.
But none of that explains why Ražnatović is hosting James and Carter for an international meeting and posting ambiguous captions on social media. What exactly are these basketball powerhouses scheming?
James planning to join the Nuggets next season?
As much as Nuggets and LeBron fans may want to jump to conclusions and assume this is some kind of sign that James will team up with the Joker next season in the NBA, that seems highly unlikely. First of all, that wouldn’t really require James to meet with Ražnatović, as it barely concerns the two parties.
James is on an expiring contract, so he can become an unrestricted free agent next summer. If he truly wants to, he can sign with any team in the league for a minimum contract, and sure, the Nuggets would probably offer him one of the best chances to add another ring or two to end his career.
But if that’s LeBron’s choice, he can easily do that. There’s no need for him to go and meet with the agent of a player a year in advance of that move. It’s even more unlikely that said agent would be posting cryptic messages about that happening. Ražnatović is obviously loyal to Jokic, but he isn’t working back-room NBA deals the way that some better-known agents in America might.
Ražnatović and James likely working on partnership for new league
What’s much more likely is that Ražnatović, James, and Carter were discussing business opportunities in the ever-expanding global basketball world. Adam Silver has been talking about expanding internationally for years, and that seems more pressing than ever.
James can see the light at the end of the tunnel for his playing career, but he has many business ventures and would like to grow his portfolio. Investing in an international basketball team or league at the ground floor would be a logical next move. That’s almost certainly what was being hashed out on this yacht trip.
We don’t know any details yet, but for my money, that’s what’s going on here. There will be some announcement down the road, and this will all make sense. So, sorry Nuggets fans, I don’t think this post is a sign that James will be joining the Nuggets next season.
