Following a disappointing Denver Nuggets loss at home in game 4 against the Oklahoma City Thunder, the Mile High Crew has given control back to OKC in the series. With that being said, the series is still tied 2-2, and if the jersey choices moving forward are any indication of who might win, Nuggets fans should feel very confident with their upcoming game jerseys.
Do basketball uniforms actually play a factor? It would be tough to argue that, but the data and jersey records of this playoff run definitely make this at least an interesting fact to consider. Through the first 11 games of the playoffs, Denver has worn four different types of jerseys: their standard white jersey, their standard navy jersey, their blue Mile High City jersey, and the 5280 jersey.
The records of each jersey through the 11 games shows an interesting trend… The standard white jerseys are 2-3, and the standard navy jerseys are 0-2 (including last game). Meanwhile, the Mile High City blue jerseys are undefeated at 3-0, and the white 5280 jerseys have a small but mighty 1-0 record. Luckily for Nuggets fans, there is no more navy in this series.
The jerseys that Denver is slated to wear in game 5 in OKC and game 6 back in Denver are extremely promising.
The Mile High City blues and 5280 whites are going to carry the Nuggets to victory!
In game 5 on Tuesday night, the Nuggets will be set to wear their most dominant uniform this playoff run in their blue Mile High City jerseys. The 3-0 record in these is enough to feel good, but the games in which they’ve won in these are even cooler. Against the Los Angeles Clippers, they won game 1 (in overtime) and the dominant game 7 in these exact threads.

Jump forward to the 2nd round, and Denver won in overtime again (game 3) in these uniforms against the Thunder. For whatever reason, these Mile High City blues have been just what the Nuggets have needed. As for game 6 at home, Denver will suit up in the only other jersey that has a winning record and is also undefeated this playoffs in the 5280 white jerseys.
The Nuggets wore these just once in the Clippers series, but it was their most consistent and well-played contest in game 5, where they won 131-115 and never trailed in the game. This was also the jersey that Jamal Murray wore when he looked like prime Bubble Murray, dropping 43 points on 17/26 shooting.
If the jersey vibes are strong enough, we could be looking at a 4-2 series win for Denver, but if the series goes to 7 games, the Nuggets will suit up in their standard white jerseys in Oklahoma City, which have been less powerful and connected to clutch or dominant wins.
