Jokic becomes a back-to-back winner in 4 NBA GM Survey categories

While Nikola Jokic did see his overall 1st place rankings drop from last season, there are still a handful of categories that he continues to own. General managers have made it very clear that Denver’s big man is one of a kind and not going anywhere soon at the top of the league.

“Who is the best center in the NBA?” - Jokic ranked 1st in the GM responses for best center in the league with 26/30 GM votes (87%). This was actually one fewer vote than last season, likely because one GM this season has hopped on the Victor Wembanyama hype train. 76ers big man, Joel Embiid, also received 3 votes.

“Who is the best international player in the NBA?” - Joker also received 87% of the GM votes for best international player in the league at the moment. This mark is 3 votes higher than last season. Wemby received one vote for this category as well, but it was Luka Doncic who secured 3 votes (10% of all votes) to grab the silver medal for this category.

“Which player is the best passer?” - Ever since his early seasons in the NBA, the league has praised Jokic for his passing, but he has now been the certified best passer in the league for a while now. He received 21/30 GM votes (one more than last season) and finished above Doncic (5 votes), Tyrese Haliburton (3 votes), and a strange Josh Giddey GM vote.

“Which player has the best basketball IQ?” - In the most competitive category of the bunch, Jokic won best basketball IQ with 53% of the votes, edging out LeBron James who received 30% of the GM mentions. Other players receiving votes included Doncic, Haliburton, and the aging Chris Paul.

Jokic will look to prove these general managers right when the new season begins for Denver on October 24th vs Oklahoma City. After a disappointing end to last season, Joker and the rest of the Nuggets will be aiming for a bounce back season and another title run.
