Dud #3: Nuggets bench

To make matters worse for the Nuggets, they got absolutely nothing from their bench in Game 6. The bench has made a major impact so far in this series and they’ve largely outplayed the Wolves bench - especially in games 3, 4, & 5.

But that was anything but the case in Game 6. No bench player scored for Denver until the fourth quarter when the game was already out of hand. Christian Braun, Justin Holiday, and Reggie Jackson have all been excellent in this series but the trio combined for just 2 points on Thursday night.

They’ve made a difference in the wins, but they were almost nonexistent in the Game 6 loss. Beyond a lack of scoring punch, the bench players weren’t offering an energy boost or making hustle plays as they have been in the past.

The Wolves bench looked like the dominant unit in this one and that was another major factor. At the end of the day, if Murray and Porter Jr. are both going to struggle to score, and the Nuggets bench is going to get dominated, the season will likely come to an end in Denver on Sunday.
