3 studs and 3 duds from Nuggets game 4 win over Timberwolves
By Ben Handler
Stud #2: Anthony Edwards
The Wolves obviously ended up losing this game but it’s hard not to admire the effort of their 22-year-old superstar. Edwards was incredible in this game and did everything in his power to single-handedly will his team to victory.
Minnesota took the Nuggets’ best punch, multiple times, and refused to quit. They kept this game within striking distance all the way to the final buzzer on a night when Ant’s entire supporting cast let him down.
But Edwards would not go without a fight. He had it going from the opening tip, making his first four shots from the field and he didn’t slow down from there. Ant finished with 44 points - his third 40+ performance through 8 playoff games - on 15/26 shooting, 5/8 from three, and 7/8 from the free throw line to go along with 5 rebounds and 5 assists.
He scored from all three levels and did his best to go toe to toe with Jokic and the Nuggets. The only reason this wasn’t a complete blowout was the remarkable play and shooting of Edwards. The Nuggets have thrown all kinds of coverages and matchups at Ant, and he’s had the answer for just about everything.
On top of that, Ant guarded Jamal Murray for almost the entire game, often picking him up at halfcourt or even beyond. He did a great job of limiting one of the Nuggets’ best players, and looked no worse for the wear on offense; truly impressive stuff.
