The Nuggets, after two disappointing performances at home, have put themselves behind the eight ball. The team is going to have to defy the odds to make a comeback in their second-round playoff series. They’re now in a position where they must win four of the next five games, with three of those games to be played in Minnesota.

It has been done before, but the chances are slim for Denver. Beyond the mathematical and historical probabilities being against the Nuggets, they just need to play better. The eye test has arguably been worse than the results.

The T-Wolves have looked like the far better team, the hungrier team, and the team with championship aspirations. This isn’t just a matter of the Nuggets changing their approach. They need to up their own game and also find ways to slow the Wolves.

Based on how game two went, that may seem like a near-impossible ask, but in the playoffs, things can completely flip from game to game. The Nuggets can’t think about winning this whole series, they truly need to take it one game at a time. Go out and win game three in Minnesota and suddenly the pressure swings to the Wolves.
