Jamal Murray - Ranked 34th

Jamal Murray is ranked… too low. At this point, the playoffs and offseason for Murray has been completely blown out of proportion. Was he injured in the playoffs and did Murray struggle with Team Canada? Yes. However, he still hit two game-winners against the Los Angeles Lakers on one leg and scored a game-high 35 points in the game 7 against the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Murray has dropped in the CBS rankings from 18th to 34th after just one season removed from averaging 20 points and 10 assists per game in the NBA Finals and lighting up the entire playoffs as the 2nd best player on a championship team. In 2023-2024, he also had an underrated regular season that seems to have been swept under the rug.

Last season, He had an awesome showing in the regular season, posting career-highs in FG% (48.1%), 3FG% (42.5%), PPG (21.2), APG (6.5), and BPG (0.7). Now that he has signed his max contract, he will aim to continue to prove a lot of people wrong and potentially make his first all-star appearance.

Other point guards ranked in the same range: Trae Young (35), Jrue Holiday (32), De’Aaron Fox (27), Damian Lillard (26), Kyrie Iriving (25), and Tyrese Maxey (24).
